My ray of hope!!

You are here with us and now have become a part of our lives. It was difficult for us to understand our needs now we have figured it out. I am killing my time gazing at you, at your beautiful toes and tiny fingers.

There has never been a beautiful expression even by great artists than yours; the way your stretch, the way you yawn, the way you stare, the way you doze, the face when you burp.

I feel elated to converse with you through the oos and aas. I wish i could understand your thoughts and language better.

They say I make you feel secure by my presence, I think it is the other way round. When you nudge your head on the nook of my shoulders and sleep, you make me secure, confident, you make me whole.

It took quite sometime for you to smile at me, but it vanished all my pains and hardships. It was all worth to see the "toothless grin". I can do anything for you to see you smiling.

This is the way all the parents would have felt seeing their little one. Now it is my turn and am loving it.

My debt!

A dedication to my parents whom am always indebted to. Love you till I can fill this universe, which I am unable to express.

I had been a vigilant owl
Now I am a relaxed pup

I was taking good care of us
Now You are here for it

I have been impatient many times
You always understand me

I know I am not being right at times
But you know I am not so

You taught me to seek refugee in god
But I don have the need now

You sent me to hibernation as a bear
But it's time I rise swift as a sparrow

To help you not for all that you did
But at least a drop in your ocean of your love

I always feel I have not did justice
For all those you have done for me

May be I can reach half of it
In my next birth as your parent.

The art of forgetting!!

All of us have been there. Been a kid, was so immaculate, unadulterated in thoughts and looks. We were close to nature, just the way god wanted us. As we grew up we learnt to live, learnt to talk, learnt to face people around us. As we gain various experience from the society, we learn the tricks and trades of survival.
Now we can be diplomatic, learning to handle all kinds of people though still a few can come as a shock to us. While we were that young, we dint know how to handle many situations. We ran to our teachers or parents for help. Now we cant do that too. We blow up our emotions are hide it forever. Sometimes we think we better not talk than to express it.

Just imagine how calm this world would be if we had not lost the art of forgetting.
The kids are adept in it. They play with their best friend all the time, help them, and push them away showing their anger of no reason; which might seem as a humongous excuse to ignore them. They go around, play with other friends, and come running back looking for their best friend, forgetting their pent up anger. The friend also accepts it and they walk along together again. Wouldn't it be great if all of our lives were such a beautiful fairy tale?

What every girl wants!!

What does every girl want in a guy?
A guy with heroic smartness?, a rich fellow who provides everything except himself?, someone who showers her with gifts, money and keeps the rest with phone call? NO!!!! We know all this right? Of course...

A simple man, with a passion at heart, an art to create fascination in his speech, activities sprinkled with a pinch of humor, who is awaiting to see her face glow on surprise/happiness, a shoulder to cry/bite when she is irritated, whom she can never get bored in spite of their lonesomeness,  one who trusts her all times, one who believes in her ability even when she doubts, at last a smile that welcomes the togetherness.

Happy Independence Day!!

Sixty four years of freedom

Mighty she stands as a nation
Though we trouble you as a prick
You bear us all with your love

You were trapped by invaders
Exploiting from the roots,
Were looted of your tenure, still
Were silent forbearing the pain.

We are building you to perfection
Balancing culture with technology
You will stand as a test of time
To care for your progeny.

Though far remote from you
Your name brings on a smile
Makes us walk head held high,
Wanting to be back in your arms.

Long live the Nation! Proud to be an INDIAN!!

“I am here for you “

We run for our lives, to make a living, to make a better living, to make more money, we are ready to leave our homeland for better prospects. It seems exciting at the beginning to survive until we encounter with a block or a little downfall.
In our busy lives, we sometimes forget the importance of relationships. Both husband and wife are working in most of the homes, as the needs have grown and toil day and night to make the ends meet. We take people for granted, hurt their feelings and don’t care for it until we are in need of their favor. When we are down with fever and unable to move even a muscle, a soul will be waiting beside you to touch your forehead and check the temperature. When you might feel it would be great if somebody cares for us, their eyes will reply you- “I am here for you”. This is what we ultimately need in a relation, their mere presence will give us strength and energy to shove away the blanket and take on our life.

Whatever life gives me
I will make it better for you,
I will make it easier for you
In times of distress and sickness
In times of success and happiness
I will always be here when,
you turn around in search of me.

P.S: A dedication to my loving Husband.

Capsicum Fried rice!!

Here comes a change from the usual mixed rice varieties. I found it from Food & Wine magazine last month. This can be customized to Indian cuisine by adding some green chillies, cloves, bay leaf. But i preferred to retain its Chinese touch with just pepper to spice it up. I dint expect it to come out so well. The aroma was so inviting but its taste way way beyond everything. A must try i would say! It is simple to make and takes very little time.

Ingredients: Makes for two
Rice- 1 cup
3 cloves of Garlic
A small piece of Ginger
Salt- per taste
Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
Onion - 1 medium sized
Capsicum- 1/2 Red, 1/2 green, 1/2 Yellow.
Oil - 2 tsp

Method:
- Cook the rice separately.
- In a pan add oil and fry finely chopped ginger and garlic.
- Fry onion till glassy.
- Dice the capsicum into small pieces.
- Fry capsicum along with rest and add salt and pepper to taste.
- Saute till half cooked and remove from fire.
- Mix the cooked rice and serve hot.

Try it and give me your feedback.
See you next time!!

Best Marriage Proposal.. I think so too...

Marriages are mostly arranged according to our custom and tradition. But with the influence of western culture, Love marriages are increasing exponentially. Here is an interesting video that i came across from Yahoo. I am not sure how many of you have seen this before my post. I really loved the way the guy proposed and was so dramatic like a movie, that it has gained the tag "The Best Marriage Proposal Ever". Though it was the western culture of proposal, it impressed me due to the guy's respect to girl's family. Hope this will make you smile wider and wider moving till the end. And this can be used by the guys who are planning to propose!! Best wishes all out there!! Get Inspired :)

I Thee Wed !!!

There comes the royal newly wed from the Westminster Abby, waving at the ardent crowd. The most awaited wedding of the royal family has broken all the previous traditions of the royal family.

The bride who has earned the love of the people is not from a royal background. This change of tradition has gained this marriage an unforgettable place in the history of mankind. The fashion designers from all over the world waiting to get a glimpse of the bridal. The crowd went crazy on taking their first look of the beautiful bride's attire. Adorned by lace and beautiful custom made wedding dress, Kate wore the Tiara (crown) of Queen London, looked exactly like a doll and the couple could just be fixed on their wedding cake as a topper!! She made her own statement in her dress and that reflected her with a beautiful veil accessorized with the tiara . She proved to be a potential queen by keeping poise at all the stressful situation of the wedding and stepped out t wave at the citizens with love and not authoritatively.

The Price and his wife walked through the aisle after delivering their vows; the Dutch of Cambridge holding the hands of his mistress blushing on one cheeks and beaming with pride on the other; the duchess greeting the members of royal lineage as she joined her way with the royal descendant and shimmering with a sense of fulfillment. She truly enjoyed the love from the citizens and her showed the excitement when she entered the balcony for their first appearance as a couple.

This is a real-time fairy tale wedding which has been witnessed by the world and let the viewers' happiness bless them with an amazing life ahead to live happily ever after!!

Rise all, Phoenix:

Thank you Blog Adda for featuring my blog in "Spicy Saturday Picks".

Seismic jolt shakes us all,
By raising the elixir as a wall;
Invading the precious life
And flooding the shelters of all.

World lending its hand
To lift the fallen from holocaust;
Providing them basics,
To revive their life in debris.

Social networks throw light
To find the loved ones in plight,
From the voracious Monster,
That swept away the hopes of future.

Resurrecting from the past,
Radiations posing newer risks
To the clinging lives' grief,
Impeding their recovery.

Nature turns its back
Freezing the homeless;
Joining hands with radiation beast,
To satiate their crave for life.

This is not your destiny
Your potent is no match;
You shall rise as a phoenix,
And shine as "The Land of Rising Sun" .

Stages of my love life :)

As we hear love, it rings a bell letting the butterfly flutter from our hearts to the person we love. This might not be the person of opposite sex or an alluring teenage. We have been cherished by love and been growing with it. Every person comes through love in many ways. Here are my stages of love which has made me today.

First love is “AMMA” who is our source to this earthly paradise. She bears us since we were a tiny spec of life to till date. Once a baby forms in the womb, a women’s life is all directed to the new coming ones. She eats for us, prays for us, and brings us out risking her own life. She teaches us every single new thing in this world. Me being the only child, she forgave her career for my sake. She stood by my side cherishing me, supporting me, making me happy in every way she could. She still stands as my source of inspiration and example to be a better person.

Second comes “APPA”. Introduced by mother, he is an abode of sacrifice. He has been responsible of a big family after my grandfather’s demise, he started to work, save and give for the family first seconding him. After I came into his life, I became his first priority. He has never denied any of my wishes those were right for me. He would celebrate even my very little success to an Oscar. He has been my good friend. There were days when he would come back from work and I would be jumping to the doorstep to see him and narrate the entire happenings of the day no sooner did he enter the house. We used to go for long walks during weekends exploring unknown routes in neighborhood. Chiding me for my mistakes first and explaining me my fault was the best. He would enlighten me the right way so that I would not go to the wrong way. He is my great support for my strength and endurance.
Schooling is a beautiful period of ignorance being bliss. So many friends around that would make the school an exciting place in spite of knuckle breaking home works. Though I have come across many friends in school, there is one very good friend of mine called Swarna. We studied together for 4 years, third to sixth grade and then I had to move out of town. She had been in touch with me every now and then till date, sharing our lives together in the warmth of love and friendship.
Here comes college, a stage when we could feel the shackles break open letting us to taste the flavor of freedom. Starting from crushes, infatuation, chat friend, the list goes on with many people entering and exiting their ways. Amidst all these I found my set of friends whom I used to hang out with in class, after hours and at the hostel. Many friendships start building but only a few last after years. I have to mention my roommate whom I have had bitter fights many times. Yet we had the maturity to stand for each other during each other’s tough times and lasting till date. Other friends are from two sets that have made my beautiful college days memorable for lifetime. Life goes on after college, people get busy with their own priorities, but the love we shared in college keeps the relationship lingering in my memories though we might not be able to stay in touch as before.

Finally is my current stage where I have taken the role of a wife. Marriage was an exciting period, especially the courtship period waiting the d-day and trying to push the days by spending almost the entire day through the phone. Sharing becomes interesting and exhilarating when it is with the person we love. Getting to know each other, celebrating love in every little aspect, cherishing and appreciating each other has been the being since one year. Beginning at enjoying the little non-sense talks or PJs, making it at the last moment and celebrating it as a success in a race, calling our parents to show our home, new exciting things, creating a memorabilia for special occasions, till the good nights and cuddling before sleep are the every moment I cherish in this period of love. Love is in the air all the time in between the hurry burry, small tiffs and boredom. This relationship of love has given me the maturity to understand the other relationship better.

Love makes the world go round. Love has taught me the importance of relationship. It might seem like a hyperbole, but just love can fetch us happiness. Wondering how? Even if we come across a disaster, right support from our loved ones, trust and encouragement can help us recover and spring back to the next step. In this busy life, where people don’t even have time to greet each other, space
out some time for love. You will feel the significance of life and lucky to be alive.

Our first Step together!!

Strangers were we sometime back
Tracing life on our own path;
Then we met in the name of matrimony
Beginning to search our future hand in hand.

There were times we yearned to see each other
Separated by long distance
Now we are in each other’s arms
Enjoying the marital bliss

I knew I was leaving my roots
To start a new chapter of life
But you replaced the most
Precious people in my life

You are my mother when you care
And my father when you recognize
You cherish me amidst your busyness
And understand my weakness

Today we have crossed a year
Giving us more of you and me
Knowing better and wanting each other
Overcoming our differences

I owe you these verses
As my love for you
To stand by your side
To reach our life’s pinnacle.

This is a tribute to my loving husband!

Hello My Dear...

She looked at me with love
Even when i was unable to move
She taught me to behave
With all those i have
She cried when i was hurt
And taught to be unhurt with all.

She made me grow
Standing by as a ladder
Herself  staying stunted
Sacrificed all of hers'
To watch me shimmer.

Then came the day
She sent me away from her
For my betterment
With my memories lingering
In her thoughts and
Waiting for the phone to ring
And say "Hello kutty ma..."

The Man behind Me:

The love for our mother never goes dry even after so many expressions. Having written about the greatness of mom, exuding all my love for her, I still have enormous to say. But they say that girls are daddy’s pet. Yes I am and how can I not share the highness of my dad? When people used to question me if I was mummies or daddy’s pet, it would respond with a reflex that am a Daddy’s girl. Though the closeness with my mom evolved with the passage of time, dad was my first companion.

It is the basic physics of opposite attracts that makes the world go around. Every soon to be dad would expect to have a little girl baby and the soon to be mom, the vice versa. He dears to see her little angel smile, besides the most powerful watts bulb, her smile is the everlasting flash that lights up his life. He teaches her to walk, and when the tiny nimble fingers wrap his index finger, he is run-off with pride and confidence. The sense of wholeness fulfills his mind when he thinks of his life with the amazing magic show of the fairy.

He might be the only bread maker in the family. Even though he is ignorant of the kid’s stuffs, he takes an extra mile to know about it and find the best for his daughter. Father plays an essential part in the child’s social stability, problem solving skills, and those activities which involves the left brain. The right brain is much active in female and so it is the father who activates the left brain of his fairy. In fact as proved by a study, the way in which a fatherless girl views the opposite sex in the outside world, moving with them is tainted. He is the source of the girl’s confidence to face this elusive world.

A belief prevails that, women are emotional than men, but the fact is men are much more attached and passionate; while women are pragmatic towards life. They are not very expressive as females. A Father knows not to measure the love he showers for his kid. Even without the outright demand, her father grants every wish of hers with just a cute little wink from her and he will be the happiest when his kid beams with joy.
He would be offended on seeing his kid is hurt by a thorn or a bump and to evacuate it, he will pounce on his spouse for being careless. He might be miles away from his family for official reasons, but he will make it mandatory to visit them during weekends, no matter the distance is. He would celebrate and appreciate you like no other in the world, here I have an experience, and I was in secondary level at school, had won an intra-school shuttle badminton tournament. Though my dad was away for work, he brought a whole bundle of chocolates to treat me. He never has a boundary for his love. He would buy a huge chocolate cake on asking for a piece of cake as a snack. He would never count his penny to bring in the joy.

He having experienced diverse people all through his life, his age and experience adds strength to our living today. You go to him sighting some problem, he will enunciate the facts in black and white, which might be piercing, but following his words will certainly lead us to a better living. His experience is our backbone today.

There were days when we would go around on leisurely walks holding your hands with no fear or anxiety of life. I had a person who would go to any extent to save me or make my day. Have learnt a million things from you dad. I would be the little companion to ride around the peaceful city on a beautiful weekend evening. You were the one who encouraged me when I was down with the fear to face a challenge, the one who would carry me to the hospital when I was bed-ridden at the odd hours, the one who showed the stronger side in me to face life with confidence.

There might have been times; when he would have been wounded by our words or actions. But every one of us will realize his importance at a certain juncture of life. This is an opportunity for me, and I am really blessed to have got you in my life and proud of you Pa, you have made my life today and really sorry if I had hurt you or I had put you through misery. Love you DAD.

In Search of the Dearest one.......

It was a beautiful day at home, enjoying the company of my parents, relatives nearby visiting our place along with stretched hour chats. It was bed time and each of us hit the bed at our convenient schedule. I was late that day too, because of late hour’s phone call from to be dear ones, browsing the net to pull in sleep in my eyes. My eyes started to shut down just as the monitor would flicker with the lack of sufficient power supply. I brushed my teeth and grasped my pillow tight to sleep. The minty flavor of the tooth-paste gave a pinch of freshness in me.

I started to stare at the ceiling above me, having lost myself in thoughts. I was halfway through my sleep and I woke up suddenly looking out for my mother who would usually sleep beside me. I hear a voice saying that she is not here. I am struck in a shock like that of a thunder which hits a tree to ashes. Was running all around our home looking out for her.

I wish I had wings as that of a unicorn so that I can reach various places in a jiffy. It was fear and anxiety filled in my eyes, fear of losing her, deep thoughts of her love and affection flash my mind as I run. Tears were ready to drip down my cheeks as I was unable to imbibe the news heard. Suddenly I am out of my sleep and I wake up looking for her beside me. Then I recognized the reality of time and I was miles and miles away from her with my husband beside me. It is not at our home with my parents, it is my new life. Though my mind woke up from the illusion, tears drenched my cheeks after this horrible dream on the early hours of the day. Am not superstitious one, but I do believe that dreams have a reflection of our minds and predict the future. No sooner did I wake up, I browsed the internet about the dream of death. To my sense of relief, it stated as a good sign in most cases. I could not come out of this dream for a long time. I wish this turns out to be a good one for you mom, blessing you with a long and healthy life. Mom, I might be thousands of miles away from you, but my mind always keeps thinking about you. I mean that I want to be near you, spend time with you and be your source of happiness. I Love you so much and I Miss you MOM.

An Equitable Present

“She who takes care of you irrespective of your need. She will stand by you through your success and failures, your righteousness and mistakes.”

Every child places its first step on their mother’s womb, wonder how? The period they kick and start their moving inside. This gives an ecstatic feel for every mom. Generations are getting better and wiser as years move along, which was stated by Charles Darwin as “The survival of the fittest”. It may be behavior, appearance, brilliance, there is ascent as the years move on. People may become a billionaire, business magnet, athlete, top official of MNC at the culmination of life, but every man or a woman are going through the same phase of life. Women to specify have a greater responsibility than men in bringing up a child. As the proverb goes, “You educate a boy, you educate a person, whereas you educate a girl, you educate a family”.
Women can speak about liberty and freaky kind of attitude they would like to enjoy during their teenage. But a certain amount of restriction is an absolute must as a pinch of salt for cooking. A few girls can object this saying they can enjoy life to fullest and change later when situation demands. But “Ainthil valayaathathu aimbathil valayaathu” In a girls life a mother plays the most important role as she will know her stages having experienced the same. She cuddles the child everyday since the day break till the end of it, helping her to get ready to school, teaching her how to behave in class, inculcating good manners and habits, helping through the course of study, engaging the child such as playing, instilling culture and values.
On taking a beautiful journey of a girl’s life, she is being treated as a princess of the house and being pampered till she becomes a school going kid. As she attains her puberty, she is being restricted slowly from her previous enjoyments like playing with her group which might constitute a greater number of the other sex. These kinds of restrictions would bother her and throw her into a world of perplexity. The girl is reared under a conservative environment instilling our traditional and cultural values. Once the girl comes out of her adolescence, she realizes the values of precepts taught by her mother especially. Though a child may call herself a pet to her dad, she is much more out-spoken to her mom. The beautiful period of a human is when they realize and admire the beauty of Mother and Motherhood. This may be at any phase of life, but this realization will transform the person into a complete and matured one. The early realization will help to serve the creator and understand her better. This would be the period for repentance and self- realization.
The realization will take you through the memory lane to show the way She cared for you while you were sick, encouraged you to overcome the suffering at bad times, chided you for mistakes and you would have hurt her gravely with impinging words without a even botheration to apologize. The times She would have boasted with pride about you to the kiths and kins for a trivial benevolence. You will be the ever beautiful and charming person in the world for Her. She might have complained about your behavior to neighbors, but will never let you down even if you are a sinner. You might have pestered her for a snack in spite of her illness; she would complete the snack within minutes to see the smile in you. Though you might put up a long face after a tiff, she would come back and cuddle you with an innocent smile at her face.
She will be the happiest if we obey her words which by default, would be for our betterment. She will be the happiest to see you smile for ever. She will adore you though you may no longer be a kid, forgive your faults invariably. She is our MOTHER- an angel sent by God to enlighten every human to salvation. There goes a proverb, “When you start accepting that your parents are right, you will have a child who thinks you are wrong”.
